I realize that more than writing, music is a major part of my life. I just spent four hours going thru 1000 cds adding additional songs to my iPod. An iPod I listen to when I’m writing. I only watch about 7 hours of tv per week. But the tv is on Mtv Jams or VH1 Soul probably 60-70 hours a week. I just have to have music playing around me. I knew I loved music I just did not realize how much until. Like I think I need it more than writing. I use it to write. Not every time but most of the time.

Plus, I listen to some strange stuff. I like hip-hop (may it rest in peace), blues, pop, soul, alternative, folk, country, big band (yes, I said it) and show tunes. For example, one of my playlist right now has 9mm by David banner along with Carrie Underwood Before He Cheats, Corrine Bailey Rae and Micheal Buble. Ok thats just different.

Looking thru my cd cases I can pinpoint where my tastes started to wander. Around 10th grade I heard Don’t speak by No Doubt and Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morrisette. It has been a downward spiral ever since.

I wish hip-hop would resurrect itself. I’m tired of not being able to listen to the radio. I want to hear something new that is actually worth listening to. 2 step, Rock your hips and wipe me down is not it. I can’t really blame the artist because they wouldn’t make it, IF PEOPLE DIDN’T BUY IT. Just a thought.
